About Me
- BLACK BOOK CONCEPT (BBC)
- is a new multimedia program within Global Action Project, a social justice media organization for youth. BBC makes rapid response media to different issues and events that affect our communities. Each member of BBC also has their own individual blog that they are able to put up work or writings that they themselves have created (see individual blogs). To make the most impact we do not just stick to one type of media or genre- we work with video, graphics, poems and audio- and create pieces that are comedies, parodies, drama, horror, etc...
what we do
In the Fall of 2006 we were using this blog to follow the police shooting of Sean Bell in NYC, as well as other cases of police brutality and excessive force by law enforcement.
When we started to look at the increased policing in our schools and communities, we began to realize how much money the city officials and the government were putting into police and prisons (instead of towards education, job training and other things people really need). On a national level, the military and war spending is the biggest place where our tax dollars go...we're currently working on a parody about this~ SO STAY TUNED!

Monthly Vigil
Join the Bell family monthly Vigil on the 23rd of each month, 7pm at the 103rd Precinct (168th St. & 91st Ave) in Jamaica, Queens.

G.A.P. End of Year Screening Please join us Thursday June 14th, 6pm-9pm, at the HBO Theater (110 Ave. of the Americas, 15th Fl) as we celebrate G.A.P. youth and the powerful videos they produced this year.
Our video "Unheard Voices" about the police killing of Sean Bell on police brutality and the many lives stolen at the hands of law enforcement agents and border patrol will be screened, as well as our new video~ a parody about the "lies our government feeds us"~
